7 Beautiful Bible Verses About Nature
Let’s take a look at nature and nature’s God.
First off, I’m not a big outdoorsman who spends all his time in the wilderness. Most of my time in nature was out on the ocean.
Don’t get me wrong, you don’t have a daughter that gets her Stars and Stripes award without spending some time in the woods, but it’s really not me.
That aside, I have noted that spending time in the forest and on the ocean, allows for a peaceful connection with our Lord. In today’s post, we will explore 7 bible verses about nature to uncover what scripture has to say about nature in the Bible.

How Do We See God In Nature?
In both the forest and on the ocean, you get the sense of vastness about you. I know that for me, it is easier to talk to Jesus out there. When taken to a somewhat larger level, you have the overall beauty of what God has created and layers underneath showing His wisdom in it’s complexity. Look at the ocean for starters: it is huge and the surface varies from smooth, through swells, all the way to monstrous waves depending upon the weather.
But you don’t see much besides water and the occasional bird or sounding dolphin in most places. It’s a whole different world beneath the waves with all manner of fish and crustaceans populating it. One of many crossover species that God put there is the flying fish. Once it builds up a good head of steam it leaps from the water and spreads it fins to glide through the air. I think they make God smile.
Basically the ocean seems to be a world within a world. The forest is similar with the exception that we are immersed in it as we look at the different parts. We see birds, all manner of birds, they are all different types but all of them are similar and they all point to a creator. One of the main things is that we can see our Lord in the design of all nature. When we look at it, we can see our Lord is a master at design who appreciates beauty. His vast power and mind created the heavens and the earth all of it. From the hummingbirds, all the way to the universal laws that keep things running in an orderly manner.
On a really large scale, just look at the world we live on, if it was any closer to the sun, or any farther away, there would be no life as we know it possible. But He put us right where we needed to be. Down to the smallest detail our world was made just right.
Nature In the Bible
The connection between our Lord and nature is pointed out in many places of the poetic language of the Old testament. One such that comes to mind is in the book of Job where it is said they can ask of the birds and animals, even the earth itself about our Lord. To me this indicates that all of nature remembers our Lord. Then there is one of my favorite passages, Psalm 8, reminding us that God created the universe and Psalm 104 which speaks of God’s loving care for the animals He created.
Bible Verses About Nature
The following Bible verses about nature have all been taken from the King James Version.
“But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this? In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.” Job 12: 7-10
“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” Romans 1:20
“O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!” Psalm 8
“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.”Psalm 19:1
“O Lord, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches. So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts.” Psalm 104:24-25
Verses About Nature
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” John 1: 1-3
“But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.” Matthew 14: 27-32
